You’ve Forgotten, Haven’t You?
You’ve forgotten how much they hate you. Now is the time to actually "reverse the roles". Welcome back, Carl Schmitt!
A candid entry on a very important transition in the worldview of the right currently occurring.
Over the last decade or so, people who harbor the slightest right-wing sentiments have been subject to the whims and demands of an absolute leftist cultural hegemon. Each and every minute corner of society - the arts, sciences, hedge funds, sports, the military, entertainment, technology, academia, development commissions, healthcare, public schools - was placed under the careful glare of the progressive Panopticon. At the slightest misstep or assumption of malfeasance towards this order came with the assurance of a quick visit from the local parole officer, baton firmly in hand. Often times, the entire apparatus of this hegemony descended upon singular individuals at a time. Not many have survived such an onslaught.
This state as such became so much the norm that we forget the singular incidences in which they occur and assume the entire state of affairs as just part of daily life. As anyone right of Karl Marx, you’ve adapted to the situation with the assumption that your livelihood depends on presenting the false impression of compliance. And in these times as the vultures circled, the best you could do was meekly utter, “Imagine if the roles were reversed…”
You’ve forgotten, haven’t you?
In the amnesia you can’t remember what happened, but you can remember being wronged in some way. Let’s lightning-round off a few anecdotes.
Start with the obvious wound: COVID. Typically we see specific groups or individuals targeted at a time, in this instance, it was all of us at once. A majority of Democrats - not antifa, not Marxists - Democrats, supported fines, imprisonment, quarantine camps, and home confinement for the unvaccinated. A quarter supported taking children from unvaccinated parents. And the Republican figures aren’t particularly wonderful either, indicating just what we mean by a cultural hegemon.
You’ve forgotten, haven’t you?
Let’s try some more. Norfolk fired a Lieutenant for giving Rittenhouse $25. A pregnant woman was assaulted by black gangsters over a rental bike; the Panopticon had her life ruined for resisting, a common recoil against the “Karen” phenomenon. CNN personally launched a manhunt against a young man who posted a GIF of Trump hitting their logo and threatened to ruin his life if he didn’t apologize, then gloated about it. A 75-year old woman, just this year, was sentenced to 2 years in jail for praying near an abortion clinic. When her family pleaded to not let her die in jail, the judge mocked her: “Maybe you should make an effort to remain alive, because that is a tenet of your religion.” Yes, they’re just as stupid as they are evil.
You’ve forgotten, haven’t you?
More.
Alex Jones was fined the equivalent GDP of San Marino, about $1.5 Billion. Douglass Mackey, after posting a meme jokingly telling Clinton supporters to vote by text, was sentenced to 7 months, 4 years after-the-fact, when the new Biden administration made it a personal mission to destroy him. Richard Bilkszto, a principal in Toronto, was made the personal effigy of White supremacy by a black DEI instructor who tarnished his name and performance until he killed himself. Mike Adams, a professor at UNC, jokingly compared the COVID lockdowns to slavery in 2020. His students got him fired, but didn’t stop there: surrounding his house, followed him everywhere he went, SWAT-ed his family, and more - until he killed himself, too. If grown adults are killing themselves, what do you think the casualty figure for high-schoolers is? College women? Speaking of that, it’s a miracle the Covington Catholic kids got the backup they did. Their lives would be over otherwise.
Trump supporters shot in the back of the head for wearing that hat. The complete and total removal of Confederate sympathy in society. Judges ordering you give up custody of your children if you don’t give them hormone blockers. The complete disparity in justice, letting immigrants and rapists go while throwing political dissidents in jail. You could write a Bible on this.
You’ve forgotten, haven’t you? You’ve forgotten the extent they’ll go to see you and your family utterly destroyed.
You’ve forgotten how much they hate you.
Englishmen Fight With the Wind Gauge
They owned the world, and with that power made our lives absolute hell.
But with that said, today I only have good news to bear: It’s not their world anymore. It’s ours.
Things are changing. The shoe is finally on the other foot, and now we get to to decide exactly what to do about it. Do we continue on the trajectory of “principled moral conservatism”, granting mercy off vague idealistic platitudes? Or do we, lions beholding an injured calf, play by the very rules they so happily established for our prisons?
Chaya Raichik (Libs of TikTok), has taken the latter approach. For the past hours following the assassination attempt, she’s smelled blood in the water. And she, unlike some of us, never forgot. In the past 72 hours alone, she’s gotten dozens of leftists fired from the jobs and disenfranchised of their status after they expressed disappointment that Crooks missed. One of those people was Kyle Gass of Tenacious D, who jokingly mocked the event: “Don’t miss next time”. His band is now disbanded, his gleeful retirement tour is over, they’ve lost millions of dollars, and Australian PMs are trying to deport him. A merciful and charitable punishment compared to Mike Adams or Douglass Mackey.
One particular scalping has prompted a degree of squeamishness among the right (particularly among women), where LoTT successfully petitioned Home Depot to fire an elderly cashier for posting on Facebook regret that Crooks missed. “Should we be doing this?” “I feel bad. Stop it.” “Guess the right likes Cancel Culture after all!”
They’ve forgotten, and this is why conservatives lose. They have a set principles which necessitate that they lose. This set of principles assumes altruism as universal and not for intragroup relationships, and so they expect to grant the same level of charity to their friends as they do towards their enemies. Completely foolish, of course. Maynard-Smith’s game theory of Hawks and Doves comes to mind. To quote a summary of this model:
The model describes the contest between two fundamentally different behavioral strategies, hawks (selfishness) and doves (prosociality), when competing over a shared resource. This contest reveals the evolutionary paradox of prosocial behavior (i.e., if natural selection is based on competition, then prosocial traits should not evolve). The hawk-dove model provides a simplistic framework to investigate the conditions that favor the evolution of prosocial behavior. Overall, hawks outcompete doves within groups, but a group of doves outcompete a group of hawks.
Altruism to groups who have no intention of returning the favor is, by its very definition and nature, an act of suicide.
Come to think of it, this model reminds me of someone…
Welcome Back, Carl Schmitt!
Oh, those Bad Guys™ and their proclivity for seamlessly adopting the iron laws of nature into a concrete idea of politics.
Schmitt meant “friend and enemy” in very abstract terms, it could mean anything from differing religions to competing artists to nations at war. But in our society, we have this distinction in its most literal form. The Left is our enemy, and they have worse than wars planned for us. So when witless pussies demand we pump on the brakes for some meritless and unincentivized promotion of “mercy”, I can only think of Nietzsche’s paraphrasing of an old Scandinavian saga in Beyond Good and Evil:
Ein hartes Herz legte Wotan in mir die Brust.
A hard heart did Wotan lay in my breast.
I haven’t forgotten. My heart is cold and hard indeed to their pleas for mercy, particularly, because they’ve never actually asked for forgiveness. All that I have seen is yet more scorn to my existence, they are sorry only that they no longer have absolute power to do what they willed. And now that we are approaching that same reality for our side, they are sorry only that it is their turn to endure.
What I promote here isn’t anything more than evolutionarily stable reciprocity, mutually assured destruction. If these are the rules of the game, if this is what they intend to do, then they can be assured that the pendulum will come right back at them and perhaps with more force. The solution to ending this state of affairs isn’t capitulation, it isn’t moral grandstanding about how bad the rules are. It’s unrelenting political war.
Ben Braddock (@GraduatedBen) gives an interesting example of how to win. During the Sandra Fluke controversy, Rush Limbaugh was the target of an extensive boycott and harassment campaign. How did he respond? He took names. Every time someone tried their smart little game, he wrote everything down about them. And then he went to their employers. These were blue collar workers, teachers, retired grandmothers - he posted their phone numbers, faces, and professions. He scalped hundreds of these smug idiots, a few of them had their lives completely ruined with bankruptcy. NEVER again did they try to fuck with Limbaugh like this.
You’re at war, a war of religion, the bullets are flying. And so, here’s to the next phase of battle, where conservatives finally learned how to win. It’ll be a long time indeed until the debt is fully repaid. Only with a parlay complete with a groveling apology will we begin to consider any alternative.
Are you ready to win?

A good-enough overview of Schmitt, but just buy his book.

This was great.
